I only use my phone to phone. I don't understand how one can spend so as much (if not more) money as for a computer, for a device that is actually a locked-down computer, that doesn't let you do all the things you could do with a computer... For the price of some smart phones, I could buy 2 laptops. Add in 20€ for a 3G modem and there you go.
Well, some people like apples, while others like oranges.
My smartphone was only $70 (56€), and my mom's smartphone was $40 (32€), so they don't all have to cost you an arm and a leg! XD
As for people preferring their phones over PC's n' the like, it's just a personal preference, you know..apples...oranges...
I love my laptop, but prefer using my iPad to draw (I have a hard time interpreting dimensions n' such on my laptop...for whatever reason.) My smartphone is fun to make quick sketches on, especially because it's pocket sized, and very mobile.
edit: Sorry, I didn't realize your comment was so old!
Haha! I used to do that (I use portable hard drives as well, they're pretty nifty). My newest laptop is only a few months old, and costed me more than one paycheck, so I try not to lug it around too much (it's my baby..haha.)
I'd NEVER get a touchscreen computer, I'd rather use a tablet to draw with (which I do). Touchscreens are really touchy, and I'd rather not break them (I definitely don't have the money to do that now!) but then again, I draw on my iPad and smartphone....so haha, what am I talking about???
