There will always be types of art that you like more then others. There's just more of the sort of art that you love. The pride that you feel when someone likes something that you do is just so satisfying, and this sort of website gives you more of an opportunity to share art that you are proud of.

The only people ever confused on this issue are those tring to sell art to others and those who are buying art for the sake of an investment.

I don't think people will lose site of what they do and don't like. What's good and bad is usually up to preference. There are some cases of what I like to think are legitimately bad being praised as the cream of the crop in the fine art world, but, clearly, someone likes it. I just look for my favorite stuff else where and then there's no problem.

With advancements, there is always the chance of losing some when you gain some, in some respects. Growth and accessability are definitley good things, but it would be bad if we lost our sense of what's right or wrong. I am not saying that we should not advance, in fact quite the opposite. We just have to be careful what we take in.

You can't lose art no matter what happens! Ancient civilizations made paint out of plants and drew on the walls, and if I ever have to I'll do the same to keep my art going strong! I couldn't live without art...

art is a subjective experience. there's no such thing as "bad" art -- it is a matter of taste and what you look for in the art you enjoy. if your opinion of something that is lauded as genius is negative, you're entitled to that opinion, but you're not "right."

My opinions about the quality of a work of art are not derived from the quantity of artistic work to which I'm exposed. However, I will say that some artistic concepts and styles that are repeated over and over again by many artists become cliche over time. An example would be the addition of clever-looking triangular hats (like dunce caps) resting on the heads of human and animal images. Similarly, attaching wings (angel wings and such) to images of just about any object. It just gets tiresome after awhile.
